asymetrix toolbook runtime system error message

Postby Mericai » Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:39 am

Running Windows 10 (Italian version). Trying to open an interactive anatomy
atlas, I get error message: "This executable requires the Asymetrix ToolBook
runtime system. Please make sure these files are installed and in the PATH".
I have learned that this is a known problem with some non English versions of
Windows. Otherwise the info I find on the web either does not work for me or
is incomprehensible. Please could some kind person spell out in easy, clear
steps, what I have to do to resolve this? Many thanks.

Perhaps John Dove has a comment on this.

I'm assuming you have an authoring version of ToolBook installed. Is that correct?

If not, then the program you are opening is looking for ToolBook runtime files which may not have been installed with the program.

You can download the runtime installers from this location, though you will need to know which version of the runtime you need.

Once you open the page, search for "runtime" and then select the download you need. If in doubt about the version, you can try the latest version and see if it works. If not, uninstall it and try and older one.
