v11.82.648 beta released

Postby Clifton » Wed Mar 05, 2014 9:39 am

Changes in this release:
  1. Dropped the local hard drive installation of the v11 tutorials. Accessing tutorials now accesses the online publications. The older v11 documents can still be accessed from the online system and will continue to be available for some time. This change makes the installer about 80% smaller in size!
  2. Add support for flv (streaming Flash video) to htmlVideoLoader(). Also added option for continuous monitoring to videos loaded with htmlVideoLoader().
Note: This requires that the Flash player be installed as the htmlVideoLoader() will use the Flash fallback to support flv streaming media. You can use htmlVideoStyles() and htmlVideoControl() to manipulate the video as desired.
  3. XMLHttpRequest() changed to be able to return XML documents for ToolBook page configuration.
  4. Added automated XML configuration abilities for page and HTML tables via the JKL API library. A subset of this library is now included in the PowerPac to support working with XML files. Please contact us for information on how to code your XML files as this has not yet been documented.
  5. Updated the HTML 5 VideoJS Library API from v4.3.0 to v4.4.2. This release fixes a problem wherein querying for video duration before the movie had loaded would cause problems. (Note: it is still good practice to ensure your videos have loaded anyway.) The release also improves support for touch devices. It also exposes additional support for plugins. The PowerPac may begin supporting some of the plugins available for VideoJS.
  6. subModal() has been enhanced to intelligently work with content that is NOT unloaded when the dialog window is closed. On next opening of the subModal(), the function will determine if the requested page can be remotely navigated to using PowerPac functions rather than reloading the entire url. This considerably improves the performance of the window refresh and provides additional advantages to setting unloadContentOnClose to false.
  7. Made Flash the default audio player once again for mp3 when the browser is IE (any version); all other browsers and devices will continue to use native HTML 5 audio, (where the file type makes that possible).
  8. Set pgLoadFlashMovie() to automatically unload a previous movie before loading a new one into the same container.
Bug Fixes:
  1. setBrowserWindowStyles() would fail to reset size of browser background images if a subModal() dialog window was dragged outside the browser viewport region (i.e.: the visible area of the browser client). This anomaly has been fixed.
  2. Fixed createFoldingObj() and createTopicAccordion() sometimes losing title bar display when pressing the tab key and when a folded topic contained hotwords.
  3. Additional HTML 5 compatibility improvements; most of which affect older ToolBook versions and PowerPac (v8.9 and v9.01).
  4. Minor improvements to pgAnimate() so if a group of objects are animated, the group's visibility property will be correctly set both at the start and when the animation has completed. Previously, setting the group's visibility was left up to the developer; now the setting is handled automatically based on the animation type. This ensures that the animation will work without object visibility problems.
  5. Fixed problem in htmlVideoControl() where unloading a video that was running fullscreen would cause the browser video component to become corrupted and would not load new videos correctly.
  6. Fixed a problem in htmlVideoControl() where dynamically loading a NEW video IMMEDIATELY AFTER a previous one had sent user event end notification would fail.
  7. pgLoadFlashStream() has been adjusted to return the current time as seconds when the notification mode is continuous. This ensures cross-browser user event value format consistency when using htmlVideoLoader() and htmlVideoControl() to work with videos.
  8. Miscellaneous bug fixes to mergeTBObjects() involving event cloning and clarified the parameter help for this and related functions.
  9. Fixed a Firefox caption centering problem with createStyledButton().
