To help you get the hang of the various parameters and their usage, we have prepared a single page video with parameter selection that you can use to test your options when setting up this function in your applications.

We will post additional resources as they become available. Of course you can always post your questions and usage suggestions here as well.

Updated Mar. 5, 2015:
  • Issues with MP4 videos that fail to play using htmlVideoLoader() can often be resolved by moving the entire export to a web server and testing your content from there. While this is not always necessary, some videos seem to use an encoding that prevents proper playback from a local hard drive.
  • Programs that seem to work best for video encoding and conversion:
    1. HandBrake
    2. SuperSimple Video Converter
    3. Any Video Converter
    4. DVDVideoSoft Converters
    5. NOTE: We make no guarantees regarding these products, though we have had a measure of success in using one or more of them. Many conversions work best when first created as AVI and then into MP4. In these cases, HandBrake seems to do the better job of encoding the final result into web-optimized MP4 video.
  • IE8 support for MP4 video is only provided as a Flash plugin alternative. The PowerPac function htmlVideoLoader() supports loading MP4 videos for IE8, but the control of these videos using htmlVideoControl() is more limited than in HTML5 browsers.
