Hi Clifton,

I tried to update to the latest release as usual but Windows decided that there was a virus in the temp files and promptly deleted a file called cycxmje.exe and interrupted the updating process. I now don't know whether I have updated or not. If I click on PowerPac and About it says Installation Version beta.

John

UPDATE
I clicked on Check for updates, downloaded and installed. This time the process was not interrupted. About now says 15.104.3. Is that the latest?

The version after updating should be:
v15.104.3

Try temporarily turning off your security software during the update process.

If you have v15.104.3 then you have the latest.

Windows Defender can also be temporarily disabled during installation of software (at least the realtime scanning component).

Thanks Clifton,

I also had trouble with certain apps that I distribute (or more truthfully hope to distribute ;) ). These were apps made with autoIt. The only solution I found was to replace all of them with apps made with Visual Studio. Windows Defender has never misdiagnosed any of these VS/VB.NET programs so far.

However, I don't recommended using the latest versions of VS. They are huge and sluggish even on the latest computers. I find VS 2012 is about the best.
